Amsterdam Neighborhood
Plantage
Green, historic, and peaceful. Wide boulevards, world-class gardens, and room to breathe.
Plantage is the green, leafy neighborhood that most tourists walk right past. Home to Artis Zoo, the Hortus Botanicus, and wide tree-lined streets that feel like a different city entirely. My colleague moved here for the quiet and now refers to the rest of Amsterdam as 'the loud part.' The Jewish Historical Museum and the Hollandsche Schouwburg are here too — historically significant and deeply moving. It is calm, beautiful, and full of spots where you can actually sit down without fighting for a table.
